The Public Relations & Events Committee's mission is to create a public awareness program to keep the public informed and involved with the revitalization efforts through the web, print, radio, and news media. It is also this committee’s duty to plan new festivals and downtown events to draw people to the downtown.

• Create public information program on downtown enhancements. This would include press releases, community cable shows, radio, and news updates for the web site.
• Plan new downtown festivals and events to reinforce downtown’s role as the center of the community. In 2004 the Events Committee brought back Moonlight Madness and started a new October event with the Lantern Parade. The Rochester Chamber currently sponsors yearly events; the Downtown Summer Fest and Holiday Parade.
• Build public support for the plan’s recommendations through a public relations and marketing strategy. (With Stewardship Committee)
• Develop and create awareness of the local cultural environment to include all forms of the arts.
