The Adopt-A-Spot program was started years ago in our city and has been enormously successful. In different locations throughout the city, local businesses have adopted an area where they buy and maintain the flowers and shrubs. This has made a tremendous visual impact in beautifying our city. We appreciate everyone’s hard work that has participated in this program.

 
CORE’s Design Committee is working to enhance the downtown pocket parks. On North Main St. leading down to Wyandotte Falls, the Rochester Housing Authority replaced all the wood on park benches that had been in disrepair. This was a major improvement and the Design Committee will be working on further beautifying this area with additional plantings and large flower urns.

 
Another idea to enhance the cultural aspect of our city is to introduce public sculptures in the Adopt- A-Spots. The work would be selected from local seacoast artists and sponsored by area businesses.
