The Master Plan includes improving the signage from the major gateways to the downtown. The Design Committee has developed a Welcome to Rochester Sign using the lilac theme to be placed on major roadways, which lead to the downtown. From there, there will be smaller directional signs to guide visitors to the downtown area. The Spaulding Turnpike has many Rochester exits. The Cecil report suggests finding the most convenient route to the downtown from the highway and coordinating the signage accordingly. The City of Rochester is now taking over this project. As of Fall 2007 we have placed Parking signs around downtown Rochester. This project is still in the works as we would like to upgrade the signs so they are Bigger and easier to see.
